There’s been an uptick in alcohol consumption, with 49.6% of Bahamians now identified as current drinkers. The prevalence of heavy episodic drinking (HED) and the higher engagement of Bahamian women in HED compared to their male counterparts highlight the necessity for public health initiatives focusing on responsible alcohol use.
